Welcome to the new WinterStar Farms website!
We teach horse owners the art of authentic relationship with their mounts, and a use unique approach to training through the balancing of boundaries and connection. We believe that relationship, authenticity, and emotional agility should be the guiding principles for all training methods, and that each horse is a unique individual. We believe every horse deserves an owner dedicated to providing it with the best care, and the best environment to encourage radiant health - in mind, body, and spirit, and a balanced flow of emotion.
Inspired by the work of Linda Kohanov, Epona Equestrian Services, LLC, Toni, an experienced horse breeder, is an approved Epona Instructor, who also works in the healthcare industry in the field of clinical informatics. Toni and her co-facilitators offer individual or small group workshops – teaching clients “The Way of the Horse” exploring the nature of the horse-human bond, and how that bond can help humans become more effective with their approach to training horses. Additionally we have expanded the Epona work into the realm of organizational development introducing the concepts of consensual leadership, emotional intelligence, and intersubjectivity in working with teams. The wisdom of the herd illustrates these concepts and how they can be applied in a leadership setting in a very unique and innovative way.
An interesting outcome from learning the Epona approach to training horses and conducting innovative leadership workshops, is that the accompanying personal empowerment skills acquired along the way have affected our lives in a profoundly positive way. We are excited about the opportunity to share these skills with our clients!
Mission Statement of Eponaquest: www.taoofequus.com
In addition to our workshops, we offer a few high quality sport horses and young prospects for sale periodically, and on a limited basis clients can work with us to breed a custom foal for their unique goals. We enjoy involving the new owners with their foals “from the ground up”. When our young horses are raised in a manner that never causes them to mistrust humans, then the early training forms a sound foundation for lasting success. Our breeding focus is producing jumpers, eventing, and dressage horses from the finest bloodlines of the Holsteiner and Hanoverian breeds.
